We are looking for a Software Developer to join our team. The Software Developer will be responsible for working across the PolyUnity team to ensure our products are developed using best practices, following modern software development techniques to improve scalability, productivity and reliability of code.

Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Work Model: In office with some flexibility for hybrid
Target Start Date: Jan 5, 2026

Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time in Newfoundland and Labrador starting January 2026.
  • Legally entitled to work full-time in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Completion (within the past two years) of a minimum one-year post-secondary or skills-training program at a recognized NL institution (e.g., MUN, CNA, Keyin College, Get Building, etc.).
  • Not currently enrolled as a full-time student.

What you can expect to do

● Participate in the design and creation of scalable software
● Participate in an interactive agile methodology (SCRUM)
● Develop front-end assets for React and GCP
● Write code for custom Node.js modules and APIs
● Design/implement models for Postgres, Google Firebase BigQuery data
● Update project plans and follow the PolyUnity development methodology

What we are looking for in you:

Primary Considerations

● You like developing great software, not just making it work but following design principles to make things right with excellent problem-solving skills and patience
● You have experience with web app tools such as React, TypeScript, Node.js and developing software using cloud service architecture (GCP/AWS)
● You have a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and data structures
● You are a team player and clear communicator who enjoys collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team

Secondary Considerations

● Prior experience with Visual Studio or other IDEs, designing and developing CI/CD pipelines and GitHub is an asset
● Prior experience of Redux and/or other state containers is an asset
● Prior experience with Unix-based OS, Micro-controllers, Shell scripting, and CLIs is an asset
