techNL is delighted to announce that Liam Flanagan has recently moved into the role of Program Manager, Ready Talent. In this new role he will continue to develop and execute our tech talent strategy with a focus on attracting, preparing, matching, and retaining local and international talent. Liam has been an integral part of techNL and its Tech Talent team since August 2021 and has previously been in the role of Local Talent Lead, connecting many job seekers and techNL member employers here in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Liam is thrilled to take this leadership role as the team continues to increase its impact in 2023. Since 2015, Liam has consistently supported the growth and success of technology companies; from supporting the earliest of start-ups in Genesis’ Evolution program, to making connections for rapidly growing scale-ups in our nation’s capital for Invest Ottawa. In November 2022, Liam received his Master’s in Entrepreneurship from Carleton University.
Since the Tech Talent team was formed in 2021, they have interacted with thousands of job seekers interested in working in NL’s tech industry, connected hundreds with valuable resources, education, and job opportunities, and supported candidates in finding full-time employment. As the team looks to bring on a new Local Talent Lead, techNL members can rest assured that the team will continue to provide valuable resources; including immigration expertise, custom candidate packages, exclusive peer groups, and student and youth connections to the sector. “I can’t wait to continue to help NL tech companies hire the next generation of tech talent in this broader capacity,” said Liam.
