We are seeking an experienced Product QA Lead to oversee our product QA function to ensure the highest quality standards for our products before they reach the market. This role involves overseeing all QA activities for products from initial design through to production. The successful candidate will be an effective leader and a builder – willing and able to build the QA function from the ground up with a deep understanding of QA methodologies and practices. This role is pivotal in upholding our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

The Product QA Lead’s Typical Day at Solace Power:
·         Lead the product QA function, setting objectives and managing project loads.

·         Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures for product testing, including functional, performance, environmental, and life-cycle testing.

·         Collaborate with designers and product managers to integrate quality assurance practices throughout the product development lifecycle.

·         Establish and maintain QA metrics for product quality, reporting regularly to management and relevant stakeholders.

·         Oversee the investigation of product defects and coordinate with design teams to ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

·         Ensure compliance with regulatory standards across all products.

·         Stay updated on industry trends, tools such as DFMEA, and best practices in QA to continually improve processes and product quality.

·         Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, encouraging innovation in testing methods and quality assurance strategies.

 

Must-Have Requirements (like coffee in the morning):
·         Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

·         Minimum 8 years of experience in a QA management role, preference on hardware product development.

·         Strong knowledge of product testing methodologies, tools, and processes.

·         Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills.

·         Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a detailed understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

·         Strong ability to effectively interface with both technical and non-technical team members.

·         Experience with regulatory standards and certifications relevant to hardware products (e.g., FCC, CE, UL) considered an asset.

·         Moderate-to-great skills in ping pong and an appreciation of good beer.
