Verafin is an industry leader in Financial Crime Management, providing a cloud-based, secure software platform for Fraud Detection and Management, BSA/AML Compliance and Management, High-Risk Customer Management and Information Sharing. Our rapid growth and continuing success mean we have an opening for an experienced Sales Development Representative to join our team.

As a key member of the Sales and Marketing team, you will identify and nurture prospects to uncover leads for the Sales Team. Successful Sales Development Representatives enjoy research, piecing together complex puzzles, developing strategies to gain access to the right people, and uncovering valuable information in the process. They are self-motivated and driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Above all else, they are passionate team players who are continuously seeking opportunities to grow and improve (and who love to fight crime!).

Role Responsibilities
– Execute daily unexpected calling to identify sales opportunities for Verafin
– Act as the first point of contact for new business prospects and identify the next steps for each prospect moving forward
– Uncover pain points/problems within a financial institution that Verafin could solve through our application
– Identify decision makers within financial institutions and work to build/foster robust relationships
– Develop targeted nurture campaigns to solidify strong relationships for future buying opportunities
– Collaborate with other Sales Development Specialists by bringing forward innovative ideas in team meetings and discussions
– Participate in product training sessions, meetings, skills training and professional development classes
– Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual SQL (Sales Qualified Leads) targets

Essential Skills & Qualifications  
– 2+ years of experience with prospecting and unexpected (cold) calling
– Ability to leverage your curiosity to uncover a prospect’s needs and build key relationships
– A proven track record of achieving sales targets
– Ability to talk to a variety of people within different roles of an organization (c-suite, decision makers, users)
– Experience using Customer Relationship Management tools
– Knowledge of the financial or software industry would be an asset
– Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications would be an asset

This position can be located in St. John’s or Toronto, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (2 days a week in office), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
