IT Project Manager – Platform Modernization
We are recruiting an IT Project Manager to join our growing team! The Virtual Healthcare industry is experiencing tremendous demand and growth, and this role will be vital to supporting our company’s evolution. The ideal candidate for this role will be an organized, result driven individual that has strong communication, leadership and coordination skills, and a comprehensive knowledge of IT project management. They will be goal oriented and thrive in a fast paced and ever evolving environment. This role will be contracted for one year with the possibility of an extension or transition at the end of the term. The individual will have the option to work in office at our St. John’s, NL location or work from home in Newfoundland.

Position Overview
Fonemed is seeking a driven, highly communicative individual with a background in coordinating and/or managing complex technology projects. In the role, you will partner with the CIO and other key organizational leaders to track projects and ensure they follow project management methodologies and techniques, meet project timelines, remain within budget, and meet defined business goals. If selected for this opportunity, you will ensure the effective implementation of information technologies that support our mission and goals through ongoing communication and consultation with customers, stakeholders, and managers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Lead multiple project teams simultaneously through the entire project life cycle.
Act independently and judiciously to ensure that your projects are completed within scope, on time, and within budget whenever possible.
Adhere to best practices with internal/external teams.
Communicate project timelines, including milestones, deadlines, and deliverables.
Co-develop with team members on project timelines; monitor, adjust and communicate with management as changes occur.
Facilitate communication between yourself and all internal and external stakeholders.
Lead, facilitate and communicate effective project meetings, and meeting notes to the project team at the end of the meetings.
Provide status updates and time tracking.
Manage, facilitate and guide cross-functional teams, including creative and technical resources.
Work effectively with outside vendors as needed to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively to deliver on time and on or under budget.
Provide feedback and coaching to team members, including the ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with project teams.
Provide regular reporting and updates on the projects.
Other related duties as required.
Skills and Requirements:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Healthcare/ Health tech software background preferred.
Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field of study, which may include but is not limited to Health Sciences, Business or Health Administration.
5+ years of direct work experience in a project management capacity in medium to large-scale IT projects and systems implementations.
Track record of success (on time, on budget, goals met), including all aspects of business requirements gathering and implementation of solutions for the Healthcare and medical field.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and cultivate strong partnerships with clients, technical teams, and internal business partners.
Foundation knowledge of operating systems, application development, database management, interface engines, information systems principles, and related methodologies.
Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of others.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Experience in team building and management, providing proven ability to form, build and manage effective teams.
Ability to work in a multi-functional team environment with various and competing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate effective presentations to large and small groups.
Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision, focusing on results.
Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
Ability to interact with people from all disciplines with all levels of experience.
Interest in new technologies.
Strong knowledge in documentation and collaboration tools; Office 365, Confluence, Lucidchart and other documents, project, and processing tools.
