Job Title: Data Management Technician (roles Clinical Data Associate / Clinical Data Specialist)

Job Purpose:
Clinical Data Associate is responsible for performing sound data analysis activities.

Clinical Data Specialist is responsible for controlling the quality of data analysis and performing sound data analysis activities.

Responsibilities include:

Participate in the collection of medical data:

  • Control the quality and quantity of collected data
  • Verify collected data
  • Control the anonymity of collected data, maintain security for medical records
  • Report on the quantity and quality of collected data
  • Correction of detected deficiencies
  • Train the staff that performs data collection

Process medical data:

  • Implement and update records classification (including disease labeling)
  • Classify, cross-reference, log, organize and store records according to the protocols and plans
  • Perform data analysis
  • Perform data clean up
  • Process acoustic bio signals: labeling, segmentation, audio editing, etc. Label, prepare and transfer information files according to established procedures and schedules
  • Operate information retrieval systems to research and extract records according to established guidelines in response to requests
  • Information search
  • Compile statistics and reports on activities within labeling/records management activities
  • Participate in verification and validation activities
  • Additional duties as assigned

Coordinate work performed by medical science associates (only for Clinical Data Specialists):

  • Train other team members in heart sound analysis, labeling and segmentation process
  • Train others to work with the appropriate software
  • Coordinate the labeling and segmentation work

Qualifications:

These are the qualifications that are necessary for someone to be considered for the position.

Education / Experience or Equivalent:

  • College diploma in Health Information Management, Records Management Technician, Medical Office Administrator, Clinical Research, Nursing Qualification, M.D. degree or M.D. degree in progress, or Master or PhD in Science

Qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of heart auscultation and heart sounds
  • Clinical / laboratory research experience in a fellowship / academic setting
  • Critical solid, strategic, and analytical thinking skills
  • Experience/expertise in the interpretation of scientific data
  • Flexible and committed to the team concept
