2025 Call for Nominations – Board of Directors 

Nominations are now closed for the techNL Board of Directors for 2025.

All Regular Members in good standing are eligible to nominate candidates for election and to stand for election. 

techNL is currently seeking nominations for the following Director vacancies: 

• One (1) new Enumerated Director will be selected by the Governance Committee from nominated candidates for election by the techNL membership. 

• One (1) At-Large Director position, elected by members via popular vote. This is a new process, and this election will be the first At-Large Director election. 

Current Directors seeking re-election:  

• Three (3) of our current Enumerated Directors – Johanna Brown, Hasan Hai, and David Gibbs – are eligible for re-election under techNL’s by-laws and will be seeking re-election. All Enumerated Directors will be voted on individually at the AGM (members voting for or withholding from voting for each individual). This change in voting approach is one of the by-law changes approved by members last year.

techNL is committed to ensuring a balance and diversity of skills on the Board of Directors. Nominations are encouraged for those with expertise in: 

• • Finance and Accounting: Experience as a CPA, CA, CFO or CEO in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Legal: Trained and practicing as a lawyer or extensive experience working with legal teams in/for tech or similar organizations.
  • Remote Operations: Experience designing, leading the implementation and operation of remote operations.
  • Property/Facilities Management: Including leasing, maintenance and building security experience and/or experience running industry centres, innovation hubs, or specific purpose programming centres.
  • Corporate or Organization Governance: Experience in Board leadership, policy development, compliance, and strategic oversight within corporations, non-profits, or industry organizations. 
• • Other Skills: We welcome candidates with diverse professional and lived experience. If your skills or experience are not an exact match for the above noted skills, we welcome your application and the unique perspectives you can bring to the Board! 

The Nomination Process

1. To nominate an eligible candidate, the candidate’s nominee is requested to please fill out the Nomination Form here.
2. Once a candidate has been nominated, the nominee should complete the Board Application Form here and submit it by Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 4:00 PM (NST).

PLEASE NOTE:
To be eligible for consideration as a member of the techNL Board of Directors, both the nominating organization and the nominee must be a techNL Regular Member in good standing. A member organization may nominate one (1) of their own employees.
