A historic investment in Newfoundland and Labrador’s tech talent.

The Find Your Future in Tech program, delivered by techNL and funded in part by the Government of Canada through the Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program, was a game-changing initiative designed to grow and strengthen Newfoundland and Labrador’s technology workforce. With $32.5 million in federal funding—the largest investment of its kind in the techNL’s history—this ambitious program aimed to:

Raise awareness of the vast opportunities in tech careers 

Provide accessible, targeted training for job seekers and career pivoters 

Support employers in digital transformation 

Remove systemic barriers for equity priority groups

In collaboration with 11 partners, techNL offered 16 distinct training pathways tailored to meet industry needs—from awareness workshops to advanced certificates and diplomas. Thousands of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians gained in-demand digital skills through these offerings.

This program didn’t just meet expectations—it exceeded them. Find Your Future in Tech laid the foundation for a stronger, more diverse, and future-ready tech workforce in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Breaking Barriers. Powering Business.

Find Your Future in Tech wasn’t just about individual learning—it also supported employers across the province. As part of the program, 145 employees from project partner organizations were upskilled to support digital transformation in the workplace. 

A total of 2,478 learners from equity priority groups—including women, newcomers, racialized communities, persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals—benefitted from intentional programming that helped reduce barriers and promote long-term success in tech. 

Although the program is no longer accepting new enrollees, its legacy continues. Ongoing outreach, workforce research, marketing campaigns, and program evaluations are helping ensure lasting impact and continued momentum for tech in Newfoundland and Labrador.
