Astro Workshop – with Jack Harrhy
There’s a lot of options of tools to build websites, from the higher level products like Squarespace / Wix / WordPress, to building your own by wrangling Express.js / Spring Boot yourself. What options exist in the middle here? If you know how to build a website, and are asked by a friend to build his company a fancy new landing page with a booking form for cheap, what options do you have? Astro is one of those options, its JavaScript-first, filled with features great for building static websites, but with enough batteries included that make it great for blogs, sprinkling in client-side or server-side functionality as needed, and much more. Jack will introduce some history, why Astro exists, what its good at, and walk you through building a best practices following website with features you’d expect out of WordPress out of the box.
