The Find Your Future in Tech program is a $27M training and upskilling program with 11 training partners in
Newfoundland & Labrador that was launched in February of 2023. Funded in part by Employment & Social
Development Canada, the program is primarily intended to train and upskill people for high-demand
technology jobs, with a focus on equity priority groups. This program is critical to the future of the
technology industry in Newfoundland & Labrador and is the largest program of its kind administered in the
province.
As part of this project, funding is allocated for marketing and promotion of our province’s tech sector. techNL
is planning to do this in a variety of ways, including the creation of a second podcast season to build on the
success of our inaugural Creators at the World’s Edge podcast series.
On the heels of the techNL re-brand in 2021 and amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Creators at the World’s
Edge podcast project was launched as part of a larger effort to generate enthusiasm and awareness of both
techNL and the thriving technology sector in Newfoundland and Labrador. The 15-episode podcast
showcased the province’s technology sector in a fresh new way and provided engaging, reusable content
that:
- communicated the growing trajectory of the sector.
- inspired more people to explore the potential of the tech sector.
- celebrated the incredible work taking place here in Newfoundland and Labrador.
This RFP process will result in the selection of a proponent that can work with techNL, its stakeholders and
member companies to create 15 new podcasts for season two of Creators at the World’s Edge.
