Five new voices added to techNL Creators at the World’s Edge podcast series

St. John’s  – techNL is excited to announce the launch of five new bonus episodes of its podcast series Creators at the World’s Edge to be released weekly beginning March 16TH. The podcast features the inspiring personal stories of the entrepreneurs and leaders helping to put Newfoundland and Labrador’s thriving tech ecosystem on the global map.

The series, which originally launched in the Fall of 2021, focuses beyond the technology and towards the energy, determination, and tenacity of the guests, which is something any audience can relate to, learn from, and be inspired by. The series initially reached number seven on Apple Podcast’s list of new technology podcasts and held a consistent weekly audience throughout the rollout.

Creators at the World’s Edge is also reaching high school students through a collaboration with the provincial Department of Education using content from the podcast and an accompanying video series. The curriculum is designed to spark critical and constructive discussions in the classroom and will help create more awareness for students about the booming tech industry, and the many exciting career opportunities for them to consider.

The new podcast episodes are once again hosted by Carol Bartlett, CEO of The Leap Method, a local company focused on sales training and development. “The podcast goes deep,” says Bartlett, “and unearths what really matters to these leaders, and what drives them personally.” In this next round of five episodes, what stood out most for Bartlett were the subject’s boundless desire and passion for what they are creating. “The journey they’re on is beautiful, fun, a lot of hard work, sometimes even dark, and impactful all at the same time,” adds Bartlett.

The bonus interview guests are a diverse group of individuals representing the full mosaic of leaders that make up the province’s tech sector. The five new guests are:

  • Deanne McCarthy, Swiftsure Innovations
  • Issac Adejuwan, MetricsFlow
  • Jacqueline Lee & Mark Gillingham, PolyUnity
  • Nikitha Kendyala, Nucliq Biologics
  • Josh Green, Mysa

From saving the planet one smart thermostat at a time to taking on the goliaths of Silicon Valley in the battle for data privacy right from St. John’s, their stories will capture, and keep, the listener’s attention.

“Creators at the World’s Edge recognizes and tells the stories of pioneering individuals whose efforts are shaping their businesses, the tech industry, and the broader culture of our province in new ways,” says Marlayne Hardy, Director Innovation Programs and Acting techNL CEO. “With their brilliant problem-solving and irrepressible and collaborative spirit, there is something undeniably Newfoundland and Labradorian about each of them, and represents what makes our tech ecosystem so special and unique,” she adds.

The Creator’s at the World’s Edge bonus episodes will launch starting March 16th wherever you get your podcasts. Links are also available at technl.ca/voices.
