Innovation Week 2021 will kick off on day 1 with an official launch before welcoming keynote David Grant from Nasuni, helped lead several massive scale-up initiatives at software companies in the US. Subject matter expert Neil Desai from Magnet Forensics will then talk about what is needed in an ecosystem to support high growth tech companies. Mark Dobbin, Founder and President of Killick Capital will discuss scaling – the barriers, opportunities and things both young and mature companies should know. Following, an interactive networking session among participants facilitated by Jess Chapman of ethree consulting will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn from each other and share valuable feedback.

Driving High Growth Tech Companies: The Importance of Allyship and Diversity
Co-founder and CEO of Axonify Inc, Carol Leaman, has successfully scaled and sold several tech companies throughout her career and continues her journey as a serial entrepreneur. Carol will kickoff Day 2 by discussing her experiences with startups, the barriers faced, how to recognize and take advantage of opportunities, and will provide insight into what other tech companies need to do to help them grow and scale. Next, Lesley Galgay will address what it takes to move from belief to action – what it means to be an active ally in the workplace and how sponsorship is ‘the ticket’ to gender equity. An interactive panel moderated by Lesley will round-out the morning with Caron Hawco, Cathy Bennett, Josh Greene, Lesley Chard, and Dan Brake.

Tech Sector Mash Up: Connecting Students with Tech Companies
Day 3 is geared to post-secondary students interested in the tech sector! Students are invited to attend a virtual networking event designed to connect them with local technology companies. Local techNL member company representatives will be available in “virtual booths” and share the inside perspective on what they look for in employees, in-demand skills, and company culture in the tech sector.
