techNL Attending Career Month 2021 Events

Last week, Susan Kelly, High School Talent Lead at techNL, attended two youth-focused events for career month. As High School Talent Lead, Susan’s goal is to inform and inspire students about the amazing career opportunities in our province’s technology and innovation sector.

Junior Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador Annual Inspiration Breakfast
Thursday, November 18th, Junior Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador hosted their Annual Inspiration Breakfast. The panel event, titled “The Future of Work and the Role of Youth in a Diversified NL Economy” featured Tanya Finlay of Fortis Inc., as well as techNL members Natalie Hand of KBRS, Adam Keating of CoLab Software, and Gina Pecore of Genoa Design. The panel discussion focused on the ever changing workplace, and how our youth should be preparing.

Let’s Talk Science High School Symposium

Susan also attended a Let’s Talk Science High School Symposium – a three day panel titled “Picking a Career: One STEM at a Time”. This panel, featuring academics, STEM professionals, and four tech sector representatives, revolved around passions, interests, career paths, and advice for all students interested in pursuing a career in STEM.
